This advanced technology enhances slope movement analysis and risk assessment by unlocking the hidden value in monitoring data and delivering ready-to-use actionable information.

Enhance slope movement analysis and risk assessment
Smart Data algorithms transform raw monitoring data into actionable insights, helping geotechnical engineers and risk managers to better assess and manage potential risks associated with slope movements.

Proven expertise in high-precision monitoring solutions
IDS GeoRadar has a long history of developing and delivering advanced monitoring solutions, ensuring that we understand the demands of the industries and can offer products and softwares that meet and exceed market expectations. This extensive experience underpins the development of Smart Data and its features:

  • Data Fusion Map
  • Volume Estimation

More than simple data aggregation
With Data Fusion you can achieve a true fusion between radar and prism data by merging the discrete prism direction with the spatially distributed radar measurements. This integration provides a detailed understanding of slope movement kinematics and magnitude, allowing for more accurate and informed decision-making, going beyond just simple data aggregation. This is made possible through a built-in algorithm that smartly interpolates and combines prism data with the radar map.

Real 3D movement vectors are now available
Total stations provide three-dimensional displacement at specific measurement points, while radar offers one-dimensional line-of-sight displacement over a distributed map of the scenario. This combination results in real 3D movement vectors (direction and magnitude) across the entire area, achieving measurements that are closer to reality making it an invaluable tool for geotechnical engineers.

Achieve measurements that are closer to reality
In real-life use cases, such as monitoring a large area with potentially variable morphology, there are points where the expected movement may have an orientation that is more or less favorable with respect to the radar's line of sight. In such cases Smart Data supports the interpretation of radar data, overcoming the inherent limitations of radar technology. This approach helps to better understand the risks associated with slope movements, inferring the behavior of the moving mass, and aiding in the planning of contingency operations and the execution of next actions.

Volume estimation a more accurate assessment of the associated risk
Estimating the volume and mass of a moving area is a crucial feature that enables geotechnical engineers to better assess the run-out distance of potential slope failures and manage the associated risks. This feature serves as a real ally in risk management by providing essential data that informs decision-making processes.

Crafted to your conditions
The volume of the moving mass is estimated by starting with the 3D geometry of the moving area identified by radar data and applying geological models derived from historical monitoring experience. With the mass size available for consultation, geotechnical engineers can now make more accurate assessments of the associated risks, leading to better-informed strategies for managing potential slope failures.
